Growing up overweight during childhood and throughout my teenage years, I thought genetics played a factor on why I couldn’t achieve physical & mental peak fitness. I spent hours in the gym daily trying to achieve that perfect physique that a lot of us desire. I was not seeing progress as fast as I would like, which convinced me further that genetics was just not on my side.

It wasn’t until 2009 when I decided to make a change for the better. I figured that if I just pushed myself a little harder, have a little patience and give myself the chance to appreciate every little progress, anything is possible. So, in an attempt to do better and learn more about fitness I turned to Google, Youtube and Instagram thinking that the self-taught approach would be the way to go.
